Product Description

Redispersible Polymer Powder

Re-dispersible polymer powder (RDP/VAE) products are water-soluble re-dispersible powders, divided into copolymers of ethylene/vinyl acetate, vinyl acetate/tertiary vinyl carbonate copolymers, acrylic copolymers and so on, spray-dried and made into powder adhesives, with polyvinyl alcohol as the protective colloid. Such powders can be quickly re-dispersed into emulsion after contact with water.

Product Parameters

Classification and Indicators

At present, most of the polymer emulsion powder applied in the market is made of vinyl acetate, ethylene, tertiary vinyl carbonate and other monomers through emulsion polymerization to get the parent emulsion, and then spray-dried. As a re-dispersible polymer emulsion powder, it must be easy to re-dispersed in water and maintain good storage stability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP/VAE)?
RDP/VAE are water-soluble powders made from polymer emulsions that are spray-dried. They are designed to be re-dispersed into an emulsion when in contact with water, providing high bonding capacity and improved physical properties to construction materials.
What are the main benefits of adding RDP to mortar?
Adding RDP improves bonding strength, flexibility, open time, and alkali resistance. It also enhances waterproofness, plasticity, and wear resistance, making the mortar more durable and easier to work with.
Which applications are most suitable for RDP products?
It is widely used in ceramic tile adhesives, external wall insulation mortars, self-leveling floor compounds, wall plasters, and various dry-mixed mortar modifications.
What is the difference between the KLD series models?
Models vary based on polymer type (Vinyl Acetate-VeoVa, VAE, or Acrylic) and specific properties. For example, KLD-3001 offers strong adhesion, while KLD-3003 focuses on fluidity, and KLD-3005 provides excellent hydrophobicity.
How should the product be stored and transported?
The product should be stored in a rain-proof, sun-proof, and moisture-proof environment. It should be kept in airtight and ventilated spaces. During transportation, it is handled as a moisture-proof ordinary chemical.
Is the powder compatible with cement-based substrates?
Yes, RDP is primarily used together with cement and other inorganic binders. It improves the adhesion of the mortar to both cement-based and specialized substrates through two-way adhesion.
